In the modern world, everything is under the wrong and complicated balance. It means that there are some rules by which the world is working and developing itself but morally those rules are wrong and unacceptable. Of course, the world gives us opportunities to create a career that we want, in a sphere that we feel comfortable in, but somehow we see a lot of systems based on which we change our decisions and perspectives about certain things. Of course, we wouldn’t be so offended and mad about this if it was not connected with money. That’s pretty normal because It is the main source and way of surviving, it gives the opportunity to live the way we want or the way we always dreamed about, gives the opportunity to have what we always desired, help people and by managing it right become successful. But also, sometimes it even becomes a passion. It starts to work based on a system of gambling and the person wants to have more and more money. Obviously, it hurts when people realize that there are people that have the life that they desire without even deserving that. In my opinion, athletes and entertainers that earn a lot of money are one of those people.
The first reason is that athletes and entertainers earn that much money mainly because of their popularity. Especially now, when the majority of people are on social media and the internet all day, they want to see something that they’re familiar with, that is widespread through the internet and something that can easily distract them and make them escape their troubles and worries. And as we know, no matter how much they deserve to be known or to earn money, they will earn them because being popular gives that opportunity. Learning something new, self educating ourselves and getting out of our comfort zone is not interesting for people because it is something for which they have to put their effort and time, they have to struggle with a lot of difficulties which they don’t want to. It is easier for them to watch stupid and distracting information and discuss that with their surroundings. For example, recently I watched a documentary about how people try to manipulate society and earn money from it. The main concept that was described and explained there was that most of the people easily get under the influence, so this strategy works on almost everyone. One of the proofs is an app called «TikTok » which is made by people that wanted to get something or someone popular for a short period of time, for no reason, get people distracted and earn money from it. We can see every day how those athletes or entertainers post pointless videos and start to have more and more auditory. Even if they’re not doing that, their fans share that and make them. After all of this, they have an upperhand and a lot of advantages because being popular is exactly what different companies need to pay a person a lot of money.
The second reason is that they’re not doing anything that is necessary for our lives. In my opinion, the right system is the system in which people get paid based on how much they’re important for society. Of course, we also need people that will give us the opportunity to chill and have an entertaining time, but they don’t deserve to be paid as much as other people with more important professions that literally save our lives every day. That is their responsibility and they do that during their workday, but before getting to that point, they also try to get a good education, for which they have to put a lot of effort, time and money. So, if they put that much into their career and as a result they help us and play a significant role for our survival, they also have to be paid exactly that much which is not happening. Happening the opposite because athletes and entertainers are not putting that much effort to receive a lot of money. For example, when my cousin appeared in a hospital, we had a huge problem connected with the technology of that hospital. The whole health center couldn’t afford machines for surgery that my cousin needed at that time because the government didn’t give the budget that was necessary, but at the same time the government was able to afford football games that were happening at that time in the country and pay all of the players there a huge amount of money. Not only my cousin had that problem, but also a lot of people with other diseases. So, it’s not fair for the health center, doctors there that have a small salary and most importantly people that try to survive and have to get the necessary treatment.
In conclusion, by emphasizing all of the reasons and examples that I just mentioned above considering this topic, we can clearly see that athletes and entertainers don’t actually deserve that much money. Of course, they are important for society, but because of how easily our society gets manipulated and how hard they want to get distracted from important and necessary things, those people get way more than they deserve.
